I'm unsure about Castlerigg as it seems a bit too busy up there and i could always go there for a day trip. Anyone. ? It's a fantastic place to visit without seeing any Monoliths.. I loved the lakes and the mountains. Some of the roads through the passes are unreal; and if you fancy a little walk/climb there is always Scafell Pike and Helvellyn with the Razorback Ridge.. Steam Boats and Steam Trains, there is a whole lot to see and do... Tony PS.. Don't forget, there will be low flying Fighter Jets occasionally streaking overhead..
