That complicates matters surely, ignoring the far greater ritual assemblage of Avebury? From what I remember the dates start from 2300 bc and Whittle says the enclosures were shortlived, probably used for ritual feasts of pork....its not April the first Tiompan is it ;)


Thats the problem with that kind of stuff , is it intentional ? Those alignments that are accepted as being intentional are then considered as as something to "observe" ,provides images of jostling among the elite for the best view , vendors of of neolithic shades (probably just like the inuit ones ) on the good clear days and brollies and hogburgers on the more typical . A bit like the term avenue which led to suggestions of procession .
