Nemetons /nemeids by their nature are not usually enclosed ,so what was once a "sacred grove " could be quite difficult to locate although there are examples of later christian buildings on the sites e.g. Nemed in Armagh had the addition of later chapel as did Portmahomack with it's monastery .
