It is a national monument and is a protected site. Camp on the other side of the Ridgeway if you must, in the trees, but please don't camp within the barrow area. The nearest camp site, that I know of, is at further down the Ridgeway at Barbary Castle. This has a cafe, with a bar on site. tel 01793 845346 There are two campsites around Marlborough and the crop circle central at The Barge - Honeystreet, at the very end of the Ridgeway. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/facility/50 If you do camp around weyland's smithy, the nearest fresh water tap can be found at SU 264835.
