Well I think if you are interested you could make a contribution here and find yourself in a footnote. There are lists of late C16 artists, so you could have a look to see how many there are with the initials RF working in this period. If there is more than one I would imagine you can narrow it by examples of other work or even materials, what subjects they were working on, and location might be a clue.

I had only a quick look and have to confess I struggled. The Flemish Northern Renaissance painter Frans Francken I 1542 –1616 perhaps then had a son who was Frans Francken II, could another child be RF or an apprentice piece perhaps?
