Statistically, this was bound to happen and it won't be the last, on the basis that the more they look in an area like that the more they'll find. Did you see a couple of months ago they advertised for 300 (or was it 500?) UK archaeos to go over and work on the project? Scary.
It'll be the same at Stonehenge I guess when they bulldoze 2 miles of brand new four lane highway across the WHS, find loads of previously unknown sites and announce it doesn't matter as they'll all be immaculately preserved by record.
