woman is burgled, catches burglar; phones police to ask them to come and get him. They respond with we don't have any cars; it'll be a couple of hrs.

Woman fed up of listening to burglar trying to break out of cupboard he is locked in phones police again and tells them she's shot the burglar.

Within two minutes house is surrounded with Armed response units, helicopters (hence tenuous link), etc.

Police storm house and demand she hands over gun - she says I don't have gun. They say you said you did. SHe says - you said you had no cars ...
