Also wanted to ask, what's going on at the Sloping Trenches, I mean, i can see a structure on the rest of the hill but there, i dunno what I'm looking at. Can anyone enlighten me?

The Sloping Trenches are barrows that have slipped down the slope (or were built that way). On the ridge next to them there is a line of small, difficult to see barrows, too.

There's a story behind the Sloping Trenches that goes something like ...

Cormac was away at a meeting when another king attacked Tara. When he found that Cormac wasn't there he raped and murdered the ceremonial virgins that lived where the sloping trenches are (which were thought to be fortifications once). The earthworks then fell down the side of the hill out of sorrow for the women.

Or something like that ...
