The best, and in fact, only reason for regarding the main chamber as a prehistoric burial chamber is its structure. The large capstone destroys is immediately impressive and destroys any idea of the structure being purely agricultural. However, the almost exclusive use of dry-stone walling beneath it is not typical of most megalithic tombs in Anglesey or North Wales.

The monuments t Llygwy ... and Glyn ... do, however, contain a mixture of orthostatic and dry-stone-walling which could perhaps be compared with that at Benllech ...
