It was a 20 seater mini-bus, in reality not that much bigger than our campervan which can get down the roads quite easily.
I was more surprised by the fact they had come to Meg in the first place - it was a cold and misty old day so the views across to the hills weren't great; Castlerigg seems more accessible to coach parties, methinks. They only stayed about 15 minutes or so. I dow onder what they thought we were doing, though!
