The most common feature in RA is the cup mark ,searching for natural source of inspiration for that one would fill volumes ,then come circles which may have been an influence from nature but then we are back to problems with penannulars , keyholes , spirals , crooks , rectangles (not too many natural influences there ) . Perhaps the obvious natural influence is the rock itself . Bit the biggest is the contentsof the consciousness of the carver, which does include their perceptions of nature but an awful lot more besides.
