Hi Goffik..and everyone else.
Thanks for the advice..I ended up having a great 4 hours wandering around Portland. No ancient sites to be seen but lots of history and some stunning coastline. I will post some stuff I found about prer***n stuff on the island asap
This will include mention of wells...but not Fortunes well, didn't have time to stop and explore the village of that name.
Goffik, did not read your posting till too late, hope you had a good day out. the east wind was bitter but once sheltered it was a cracking day.
