Remember, the planning process, especially in the face of objections is a protracted game of brinkmanship.
Expect for the council officers' report to recommend rejection, and for Tarmac to announce a last minute change of plan - they will announce that a proportion of the archaeology on site will be preserved in situ. At this time, expact a number of folks that have previously been dead set against the application will come out of the woodwork as supporters.
