5 August then?

Things seem to be gelling around Saturday, 5 August :-)

Was thinking this morning that although both Windmill Hill and Waden Hill have great views we're going to be buggered if the weather turns bad. How's about the north-east sector of Avebury, just a bit east from the Cove, instead? It's quiet there, even in the summer, has a bit of tree cover in case it's a scorcher, and is close to the Red Lion in case anyone needs the loo (or a refill :-) or we have to dash in from the rain.

Nothing set in sarsen yet, just an idea.

PS Chris Tweed, who hosts the Stones List, posted last night that it, "Sounds like a good idea to me. It has been far too long since I've seen any of you. The informal kind of "just turn up and chat" sounds like a very nice plan." So there might be a few folk from the List (and the Portal?) coming along as well.
