How do you know that the orignal bulders do not have descendants who still live in the area?
Julian Richards showed that Bleadon villagers were related to the barrow builders on the edge of the somesert village.
Currently the locals run the shops, Post Office, Pub and NT cafe.
Many offer guided tours, often for free.
Local volunteers maintain the site by litter picking and clearing the offerings inside WKLB to deter the rats from biting the tourists.
Local farm workers tend the fields of crop which the croppies stamp those designs in which bring the tourists in.
Local shepherds tend the sheep which keep the grass down in Avebury or mow the grass when needed.
Locals clear the riverbed to stop flooding.
Locals used to keep Silbury in a good state of repair before EH stopped them and left it to rot.
Local tax payers pay for street lighting and those lovely yellow lines the NT insisted were put down.

Anyway, the NT said the money from the carpark would MAINTAIN THE VILLAGE not line NT's pocket.

There is currently a job going in the NT museum which would suit you down to the ground.
Must have a first in archaeology to move boxes of artifacts from one room to another.
£7 per hour. One day a week. Dec - Nov or is moving boxes too taxing for you?
