If I had my way tuesday all the (known) buried stones in the Avebury complex would be re-erected and an on-going program of locating and re-erecting other stones initiated. No-one has ever come up with a reasonable (let alone logical) reason why this should not be done though you will hear various twaddle about maintaining Avebury's 'present integrity' (sadly an argument held by Mike Pitts who I otherwise like and respect).

The Avebury complex is a National Treasure and should be treated as such - sadly politics and (lack of) finances get in the way.

I watched the news today oh dear... our world is what we make of it and what we are presently making of it is conflict and division - not beauty and understanding.
