Hi Captain

< I wonder if the rocks/stones that you're looking for near Little Alsmsclife are the Hunters Stones? Though they're not to the North. >

No I didn't mean them. Hmmmm...we'll have to have a wander to see if Grainge's old site is still there somewhere.

< I noticed and area nearby on Snowden Scar/Craggs that contains loads of cup and ring marked stones, a settlement, and something called 'The Tree of Life' its between Askwith Moor Road, and Snowdon Carr road at ref SE177 511 >

It's teeming with stuff. (you've probably already seem 'em, but if not, check the links below.) There's a mass of sites stretching from Almscliffe westwards over the moors at Askwith, Denton , Langbar - all the way to Beamsley Beacon. This moorland region seems to have as much by way of ancient history as Ilkley Moor to the south. We've found more settlements here than exist on the moors at Ilkley - and there's still a lot which still needs examining. Lotsa seemingly aimless zigzagging back and forth thru heather, looking at just about every rock, hillock and bump in the ground that we find.
