Whilst up out and about around Freebrough and Gerrick today I spotted this name on the map (on the Liverton - Moorsholm road), along with Hagg Wood and Hagg Beck. Does anyone know anything about these places?

I tried to have a look at Hagg Hill, but due to the road being lined with woods most of the way you couldn't see much, and I didn't fancy getting stuck in mile-high weeds.

I was curious as to the names, especially with so many 'Hoeur' placenames up on Gerrick Moor, and this being not far away, and in clear view of Freebrough, if there's a Mother connection here - anyone?

Cheers,

Barry.
