As you know iIt took 1000 years for a team of celtic stonemasons to construct stonehange stating in 1,500 BC

Three and a half thousand years on and the project team of Constain/Balfour Beatty and Halcrow is hoping it wont take as long to decide whether or not to give a green light to the newly inflated £470M A303 Stonghenge tunnel.

The Departmrnt for transport has announce it is to launch a review into the secheme after discovering the costs have risen from £183M in 2002 TO £470M

Plans for a new £67M visitors centres has also been put on hold.

The discovery of unprecedented levels of phosphatic chalk and a high water table has been blamed.
