It's out of the way for Glassonby Base Camp, but do yourself a favour and go look see. Swinside Circle is a joy.
SHAP
Go and do some homework about all the stuff that was around Shap, very interesting for the megalithically inclined. Half a stone cirlce next to the train track and the odd standing stone are all that's left, but originally had avenues and all sorts of fun and games.
Around Penrith
Mayburgh henge and Arthur's Table (Henge), free parking within sight of each other. Mayburgh has banks made of stones from the nearby river and one solitary standing stone left from the circle.
