Yes, April looks good.
Margaret Curtis writes in Callanish 2006, "The earliest date to see the low moon rise out of the Sleeping Beauty Hills would be when the centre of the moon is at about 2.75 degrees altitude at due South on 1 April 2005..."
Gerald Ponting wrote on the Stones List earlier this year that, "The suggested date is around 10th-11th June 2006 which, as I understand it, is not the exact date of standstill (which is not at a full moon) but a date near enough that there will be little visual difference, and the advantage of two full or virtually full moons on successive nights - so two possibilities of a clear night."
1 April 2006 falls on a Saturday which is probably good for many - though it might be a bit chilly on Lewis at that time. Think I prefer to be there in June.
