I think a major point is that the swastika is deemed as offensive, so to display it in such a way WILL offend people, regardless of intention. My example of the word "cunt" is a prime example. A colleague in a previous job used to say how much she hated it, until I passed her a copy of TMA and she read JC's description of it. It changed her mind, but when she told another colleague of this, the reaction was that it was STILL offensive to her regardless of it's origin, due to the modern context. No amount of explanation would change her mind. So we didn't use it in her presence. Not that it's a word I bandy around the office (much) anyway! ;o)

The main point about this on THIS board is the defacement of prehistoric sites. Whatever form this takes will be offensive to the likes of us here, so combine that with a perceived "offensive" subject matter and it's BOUND to raise heckles...
