The man's just posted another image and this blocking stone is pierced/perforated - it's fortunate that there are no fences or gateways anywhere close.
The theory comes from Burl and that lovely book of his. Just by looking at the images of the Eleven Shearers, here, it seems as though the simple row is crooked and that the 'terminator' is at the kink.
I've got to go and be a postman now. Signed the Official Secrets Act (12th time) so can't talk about it. Christmas cards this deep!
