Neolithic Silbury Hill, Europe's largest prehistoric man-made mound and one of Britain's most treasured places, suffered a major collapse in May 2000.

Despite the mound suffering more collapses since, English Heritage who are responsible for the World Heritage monument have not yet authorised work to repair the damage or prevent new damage.

We, the undersigned, demand that it's statutorily appointed guardians, English Heritage, break their silence about the reasons for the delay and share with the public what is known and what is planned.

In particular we ask:

Why is it taking so long?
Are more collapses possible?
Are more surveys needed?
Are the temporary measures working?
What were the findings of the latest surveys?
What is now planned?
How much longer will it take?
Why is English Heritage giving a concerned worldwide public so little information about this precious part of our shared heritage?
What gives English Heritage the right to give so little information?
