I think the confusion arises from the fact that, judging partly from Native American cultures, the use of the word 'Sacred' is different in the Christian world, in fact so different that it makes consideration of ancient people's 'landscapes' more difficult when we define and value 'Sacred' with latter-day religions. I'm saying it could well be that 'Sacred' landscape is in fact an oxymoron. Ritual Landscape is far less subjective, I agree, as someone earlier said.

I still hold that to define something as 'Sacred' (outside of individual or group subjectivity) is a devaluing concept for that 'outside' of that which is considered sacred. I don't like being called a Gentile, or an Infidel, for the same reasons.
