Next April I am planning a self-catering Youth Hostel based stones weekend, to visit Anglesey, and Conwy area. You do not have to be a member of the YHA to take part, as the Hostel concerned is exclusively booked to the group; as the organiser, and YHA member, it is my membership that counts.

Relevant websites:
http://www.rentahostel.com/pages/hostels/england/rowen.htm
http://www.yha.org.uk/make_booking/process/108.html

There are 24 beds, 10 already taken. Left is an 8 bed, and a 10 bed room - one for ladies, one for gents, 2 already folk in each.

Should it be necessary, the places will be given on a first come, first served basis, according to the time I receive the e-mail.

The price - actual accomodation for 2 nights for Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd - £14.17; I ask for £15, as I will be doing photocopying for the group, as well as phone calls, postage, and purchasing some milk etc at the time. This will help cover my costs.

Should you wish to book, please mail me, and I'll send you my address to send a £15 cheque per attendant to reserve the place(s). If you wish to check me out that I am bona fide, there are stones folks out there who could vouch for me :-) I also regularly organise meets - homepage http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MegalithicMeets/

The proposed itinerary:
More driving on the Saturday than on the Sunday, so as not to do loads of driving PLUS return trip on Sunday.

Saturday 3rd April - Tour of Anglesey Monuments:
Bryn Celli Ddu burial chamber, Bodowyr dolmen, Barclodiad Y Gawres burial chamber, Ty Newydd dolmen, Trefignath multiple chambered cairn, Penrhos Feilw Standing Stones, South Stack Hut Circles, Lligwy dolmen and ancient settlement, and more besides (as much as can be fitted in on one day! Rock 'til you drop if you like!).

Sunday 4th April - Conwy Mountainside:
Maen Y Bardd Dolmen, numerous standing stones, Cerrig Pyrfaid Circle, Druids' Circle, Circle 275, and numerous other features yet to be decided upon! I am investigating trying to do a circular walk on the Sunday - but this is tentative and being researched!

Arrival: Friday after 5pm
Departure: Sunday after breakfast (vacate hostel)

If you can not, or do not wish to stay at the hostel, this does not exclude you from joining as little, or as much of the meet as you would like to.

Please mail me - [email protected] to express your interest!

Cheers

Tim
