If you really did want to camp - judging by todays weather you may wish to reconsider!! - I know it's a bit of a way but you could give Savernake forest a go. Like I said, it is a bit of a way out.

Better still though - note excited tone now!!
You could always do a bit of wild camping on the Rigdeway itself. I know it's not really the done thing, but the rangers can turn a blind eye if for example you get a bit behind schedule & just have to stop for the night - blah, blah, blah.

If you get somewhere off the track it can be a very cool experience. Did it near Barbury castle once, actually did get caught out in the dark honest guv.
