Yes, built on sweat and toil of the people. My grandfather set his bull on the Earl (and the prince of Wales) when they came shooting on his farm. So my socialist credentials aren't in question.

I recently found the name of a mine, very near Wychbury, that belonged to the Earls, presumably. It was "Fatherless Bairn". I don't know if it signified what it sounds like, but it made me gulp.
