Close up of nice large cup holes
This image clearly shows the split down the middle of the slab and a nice collection of 4 cups on the left corner of the stone. The holes seem to only be found in the softer beds of the rock. The foliation of the rock can clearly be seen giving the slab magnificent natural waves. Nice big, bright purple garnet crystals can also be found in the rock.
The Clach Bhan markings can be found apon a massive stone slab that has been broken into two halves. The right half of the slab has the cup marks.
15-20 cup markings on large, highly weathered, shist, stone slab. The extensive weathering of the stone makes it hard to distinguish man-made and natural holes in the rock.
These rock artifacts were found near to the ‘cup and ring’ marked stone on Brahan Estate. They can be found resting against the farm house wall.
Cup and ring marked rock lies directly opposite the front gate to Brahan House on the wall by the road.
