

The cairn from the far end, you can kind of make out an a rough shape of it
The cairn, it really is a mess and very hard to make head or tails of it
The barrow is in the foreground (hard to pic out) then the fort is in the background, you can make out the fosse
Looks like they have knocked some of the wall, possibly to let people get a better picture of the tomb
I think there is evidence of some working of the hill top to make it more conical to put the standing stone on
How big is Queen Maeves cairn, well thats me below it, its massive
Churchquarter with the pouting Mahurslieve in the background.
Cairn on the summit of Cromwell Hill, its not marked on the OS map so im not sure of its date
This stone is over 2m long and is to one side of the tomb, it would orginally hav been part of it giving an idea of its size
Inside the passage, if you look in the bottom right corner you can see the collasped cap of the rear of the passage
The tide comes in swamping the tomb, it the little square shaped stone in the middle of the photo, its actually two uprights and a cap stone. The uprights could be 1m – 1.5m high.
Thought by some to be the anthromorphic face of a person
