Balloburn

I was cycling past and saw this fine pair. There were cows in the files but I managed to avoid them.

I found this on a bleak foggy day. Buy it was well worth the effort to see this gem of a stone. It was just over a round trip of 7km from the parking up the hill from Fowlis Wester.

A fine pair of stones on the North edge of Loch Leven.

Set in a ripe barely field when I visited. There are tram lines in the field to access the site. All the stones have veins of quartzite through them. youtube.com/@Balloburn

This is set right by the might river Tay. An easy walk from Luncarty past a lovely eco friendly allotment field. There is a sign of a cup mark on the top.

I visited on the clear November day. What a stunning site! It is still in great shape. Well worth a walk up from the main road. I parked just at the start of the track by the main road. No sign of the Bull today.

This was viewed from the West and shows how prominent this stone is from a distance.

One of the finest locations I’ve been to so far. A lovely open wood and the stones look magnificent. Easily accessible from the road.
