A view of the portal stones from inside the chamber
Arthur’s Stone in the evening in Spring
Little Lodge, the remains of a chambered cairn in a field near the side of a road. There are 3 horses that share this field, and you have to coax your way past them before they let you see the stones.
This is the remains of a burial chamber near Hay-on-Wye, it is in a field near a big bend in the road, there is nowhere to park except a mud patch, and then a short climb up to the field where the 4 stones are. They form the shape of the chamber, and are around 5000 years old. The view of the river in the field below the stones is also worth a look.
Stone circle in Powys between Hay-on-Wye and Llanthony. Largest stone over a meter tall and slanting, with a smaller stone opposite, about 30 feet away. Others are at ground level, but it is the views across Hay Bluff and the Brecon Beacons that maker it such an enigmatic site. It is situated in roughest Wales, where the landscape evokes feelings of bygone cave-man days.
These caves are still in their natural setting, and can be reached easily enough with the multi-map. Ask at Bibley camp site if you get stuck. Neolithic remains have been found here, and they have been used by people since Neanderthal’s roamed the land.
Here are the four stones, they look bigger in real life, and their energy is huge for such a small site. Legend has it that if you touch the four stones from north to west, then all wars in the middle east will cease, and the republicans will be booted out!
