Arches Hotel (Hotel, Bristol)

Pretty good hotel, which offers various veggie breakfasts and has a responsible environmental policy which is well signed and followed.

Eilean Oir (Bed & Breakfast, Isle of Lewis)

I had to put this down as a B&B 'cos of the category restrictions, and the place does have a self-catering cottage, but the main reason for our visit was the jewellery.

It's all hand made by Leslie, and it's absolutely fantastic. Beautiful Celtic, and other inspired designs really exert a pull on your wallet! With the view she has from her workshop, its not hard to see where the inspiration comes from.

Luckily enough the self-catering cottage has the same view, and when we return to Lewis, we're staying there and I'm just looking out of the window all week... go there and see why. Worth the trip.

Callanish Blackhouse Tearoom (Cafe, Callanish)

Don't go near the offical vistor centre cafe, this place is at the end of the avenue and it's great.

Morven Gallery (Cafe, Isle of Lewis)

Much more than just a cafe (bit narrow these classifications) the coffee and cake (home made, as you watch) is nevertheless recommended.

Beautiful art, crafts, a lovely building in a stunning setting - the perfect place to rest from the Lewis weather before pushing onto the next site.
