Not much to see, this barrow has taken a good few years of ploughing by the look of it.
Detail of bone found at the barrow
A newly uncovered burial, early in the excavation of the barrow.
Taken during the early stages of the 2003 excavation.
Pots in the church at Kirklington.
I thought I’d try to make a plan of how it may have looked before the railway was built to see if it made more sense.
Centre Hill is somewhere in the middle of this picture!
One of the large stones placed around the entrance – outside the hut. this one shows signs of being worked and has drill holes.

This is an unusual and unknown feature exposed by the cut – slightly away from the centre of the barrow. It appears to be the bottom of a pit which constant ploughing has reduced to a one inch deposit.
This is the southern side of the ring ditch, a little better preserved, here the final few centimetres are being removed.
This is the northern side of the ring ditch for the eastern most barrow. Once the topsoil was removed it was plain that only about an inch of the ditch remained.
