Lesquite Quoit
Dolmen / Quoit / Cromlech

The remains of the quoit consist of a single upright about 6 feet tall with the former capstonelying on its side against it at an angle of about 40degrees.
the capstone is made of granite and is said to weigh about 12.5 tonnes this makes it the same size as the Lanyon and Zennor capstones

Stone Circle

This ruined stone circle lies just over half a mile to the WNW of the Hurlers.
V. diff to find.
Ring consists of 16 fallen stones and possibly a stump

Hillfort

1mile N of A30 at Goss Moor
This magnificent Iron Age Celtic Fort dates from about the 2nd or 3rd Century BC. It consists of three concentric circles, of ditch and rampart , 850 feet above sea level . It is said to be one of the most important examples of its kind in the SW ; and some people speak of the legend that it was the place where Cador , Duke of Cornwall and husband of King Arthur’s mother, met his untimely death. It has a car park and picnic area.

Mid-summer is celebrated here annually with a hilltop bonfire
