Taken from the A35 from Bridport to Dorchester.

This is a “pond barrow” on the edge of Came wood. Its huge! It doesn’t show well in a photo. The angle I chose for this photo was mainly to show what shouldn’t be there.

This is the big one again at the the road-side entrance.

The one on the right is a barrow the left is a green (i think)

This shot from the top of the largest barrow looks straight over to Maiden Casle in the distance.

At least being at the a golf club the barrows are very neat!

Mount Pleasant Henge, looking from the hilltop barrow from the East

sign at Maumbury (right part)

sign at Maumbury (left part)

The tallest stone in the background is about 2.65 m high.
(thats about 2 and half children high)

The info board stands behind the circle by the hedge.

kids will love it!

Looking back to Duloe Church.
The church has good parking and not to far to walk from.

Inside , as one guide says........ “is enough room to shelter from a storm”

This pond looks manmade. It appears to lie where the original long barrow would have been.

This map shows the nearest parking.
There is no marked footpath on the map but there was a sign saying “access to Hellstone only” where you cross the hedge to get into a field. You walk up the field to get to the site.

Looking back towards Hardy’s monument in the distance.

Taken from the top of Shipton Hill.

No access to this massive fort . This picture I took from Shipton Hill.

View from the eastern foot of the hill.
