Well this is a first for me, a new site for TMA. A great looking tomb on a private farm, and that will be the problem as permission will be refused. I can go into more detail if you direct message me.
You can't see the circle from the road but your marker is the close by standing stone. Walk back towards the farm house and the circle is on your left.
Great little tomb, pretty easy to find (going by the map). The ground around the site looks like it could get bottomless in Winter.
The superb but sadly overgrown circle of Gurteen. If visiting make sure you have the appropriate footwear.
This is the standing stone of Ballyquin (the one very near the tomb).
I have read somewhere that this stone may have originally been up closer to the tree's in the background.
A little off the beaten track (compared to other tombs in County Down) but so very worth the effort.
Great tomb in danger of being overgrown, marked on the road side as a dolmen.
The superb Ballynoe Portal Tomb, very hard to get up close. This tomb along with the many others in Carlow is a must see.
Nice spot to park and walk, look left and right at the rail crossing !
The lesser known of Waterfords great sites, well worth a visit though.
This is a magic little circle, but the location around it would seem to be undergoing major changes of late. This shot was taken in 2010.
Apart from the fences, poles, tv masts and long grass, this is a must see site.
This is for me the total standout of all standing stones in Kildare.
Ballynageereagh Portal Tomb is one of Waterfords many great tombs well worth a visit.
