The heather looks so dark in comparison to what I have noticed on my recent trips, anything to do with elevation, most of my sites were less than 600ft asl
Probably just light contrast Charles... trying to stop the cairn merging with the sky and avoid camera shake in high wind. You should know men can only do one thing at a time.
