Well done DB!! Looks like the climb was well worth the effort.......lucky bugger, its been months since I've been able to get out onto the hills.
Did 6 out of 7 of the Bennachie range + Little Oxen Craig. Tap O Noth was chancey last week as well but for a change no injuries to report! :-) At Satter Hill my first attempt was thwarted by a blizzard, Tillyching was good tho.
Top man. Nice hat.
Cheers SC!
Like the look of this hillfort D. Must try to factor in some of these Aberdeenshire hills some time. Trouble is there are too many RSCs around as well.
Mither Tap is good, Tap O Noth and Barmekin are also well worth a visit.
DB, you really must attempt Cnoc an Duin.
My job changed last November and I'm getting absolutely no opportunity to get out and about. The job is great - a promotion but I am really suffering from a lack of cairns and the great outdoors - seriously, your posts are making me extremely jealous. Most of my family come from Aberdeenshire farming stock so your posts strike a chord.
Friends and I are planning the complete Strathrory Drove road this summer -I havent mentioned the extra climb to this hill fort - they really wouldnt understand!! but please feel free to join us.
We shall make contact, Cnoc an Duin is on my list.
Good man.
That will be a good day! are you on the go
I missed this one. Hello Drew, very nice to meet you.
Last attempted the Drove Road in December 09, too wet, too cold and too little light - really needs a complete summer day. I kennel my dog at Dalnaclach at the east end of the drove road every few weeks - makes me even more determined to tackle Cnoc an Duin.
