Prior to the undignified shoring-up. As with the other drawing I’ve posted, you can see extra large stones that don’t seem to be anywhere around any more. The poor long-suffering structure.

From Rev. John Skinner’s ‘Ten Days’ Tour through the Isle of Anglesey’ (1804) – he describes one of the extra stones as 17 feet long and 3 thick.
