We have done very well over there this year Drewbhoy! A family holiday week in Arran in late June/ July with only one rainy afternoon. A flying two-day visit in late July in perfect blistering heat. Another family holiday there last week with only one light shower on the Friday afternoon. A week ago today my wee family climbed up from Corrie to the North Goatfell Ridge in soaring October temperatures in shorts and T-shirts. We got sunburned as we scrambled from peak to peak. There were butterflies fluttering around on the breezeless 2866 feet summit of Goatfell. From there the crystal clear skies showed Ireland, The Peaks of Cumbria, The Cobbler, Ben Lomond, The Trossachs Munros and even the peak I see from my kitchen window here at home - Tinto Hill.
I've tended to enjoy marvellous weather in Arran over the years. But I have heard of people who have had total washouts there - poor things!
A dry day in Arran, you did well. Good stuff HD!!
