The restored cairn looking SW. In the foreground is the innermost northern rampart of the hillfort. On the skyline to the left, topped with the remains of the Jubilee Tower, rises Moel Famau, the highest point in the Clwydian Range of hills.

Darn it, darn it, darn it, my walk took me round the defences, the kids were a bit tired and wouldnt let me explore the interior so I didnt even know that this was here.
North Walean hillforts !
Good show!!
Thought this was just a modern cairn. Well there you go. Great hillfort.
Depending on when you went, it may not have looked so swish! Actually, because it's not marked on the OS map I dimissed it as modern(!) which luckily for you lot means I only took one picture :-)
It does bear a striking similarity to the ones on Pen y Fan and Corn Du though (also restored) - is this how they should all look?
Really liked both this one and Moel Arthur. I had intended to walk round the whole perimeter and then follow the OD Path route across the middle but it would have added a couple of miles to our distance and we were making pretty slow progress as it was, so we settled for walking around the eastern side and missed the rest of the interior and the west completely.
