Wayland's Smithy

Long Barrow

Wayland's Smithy (Long Barrow) by listerinepree Wotansvolk camping around the entrance to the barrow. Sorry its from a distance, there were around 30 of them and three of us, and we're not scary skinheads.

What in the name of 'Please do not camp on the ancient monument' are Wotansvolk?

This looks rather like a dodgy scene :(

Well if you believe Wikipedia Hob its nasty and started in the penal institutions of America. Here in this country I'd put it under historical fantasy acting with a rotten emphasis on white supremacy. Apart from illegal camping in a beautiful site, they're probably riding on the back of Griffin and his mob....

Its an acronism of Will Of The Ayran Nation. I saw the flag as soon as I walked up and i'd been reading about this perverted strain of neopaganism not so long ago. The giant st georges flags and iron cross confirmed it. Moss, they probably have been stirred up by that kind of thing but its been around for a while i think. listerinepree Posted by listerinepree

That was a brave thing to by taking a photo, their pals the EDL and SDL (in Scotland) mention that people taking photos are the enemy and should be dealt with. I'm sorry that these "people" (not sure if they are people in our sense of the word) detracted from your visit. drewbhoy Posted by drewbhoy

We were suitably afraid/discrete until we were leaving. I'd travelled all the way from yorkshire to see the barrow so I had to stay for a few minutes. I'm just glad my partner hadnt come with us because he's of chinese descent and who knows what trouble that would have caused, the kids you can see in the photo belonged to that group though, its slightly sickening to think that the ten or so kids running around the place were being indoctrinated to believe in this kind of rubbish. listerinepree Posted by listerinepree
