Going from Ythanbank to Ellon, on the B9005, take the north turning signposted Drumwhindle. The stone cannot be missed as it looms large on the horizon on the west side of the road opposite the former Auchreddie Schoolhouse. It towers at 31/2 meters and can be seen clearly in each direction just beneath the top of the small hill. Bennachie can quite clearly be seen in the west.
