This stone lies to the South West of the field which contains the three remaining visible stones. It closely resembles in shape the South Western stone in Stukeley’s illustration. In Stukeley’s drawing however, it lies to the North, not the South of the lane. Has the original course of the lane changed, is this a different stone, has the stone moved or is this a another bit of Stukeley’s renowned artistic licence?
