On the left is the side passage. If I was on my own, I wouldn’t have had the guts to go down and take this photo. One of my favourite sites, as it had the power to frighten me.

I agree completely. We got there at dusk, not realising we'd need a torch! Luckily we found a small pencil torch. I'm afraid of tunnels, the dark and am claustrophobic! But was determined to go right inside. I'm so glad I did. What a wonderful place.
It didn't get rid of my phobias, but I'd do it again.

I've not been to this one yet, but went to Carn Euny a few years back and that was great, too.
Not sure I agree with the official 'grain storage' explanations, though.
