Check out the diagram on this page. “The back and head of a mammoth complete with two tusks and an eye.” No trunk. Or alternatively, two trunks.
It is exciting stuff but is it reeeaaally a mammoth?)
I am also skeptical of this. Judging by the evidence, at least as posted so far secularly, this has not convinced me yet.
And yet it has that same 'Oh yes...' quality that the carvings up at Cresswell Crags have. That is, when someone points out what its supposed to be, you go 'Oh yes...'.
I believe them, if only so we have visitable mesolithic carvings in the SW!
