Broome Heath Long Barrow
Long Barrow

(You can read some fieldnotes by Rob Gillespie for this site under the general ‘Eastern England’ heading).

The barrow is 35m long and 2m high. Next to it is a horseshoe shaped enclosure, the terminals are 140m apart – the bank and outer ditch are visible near Ditchingham village hall and beside Green Lane.

More than 22,000 flint tools were found during the excavation of the settlement!
