As at many sites in the care of Historic Scotland, a large weatherproof box can be found next to the tomb containing a powerful large torch to aid the visitor’s enjoyment of the site.
I want the job of going round all the sites on Orkney checking if the battery still works :-)
Can you imagine this polite -quaint even!- thoughtfulness on the part of the authorities lasting more than 5 minutes in England?Some miserable twat would undoubtedly half-inch in.
