The Juliegaard megalithic grave is a free-standing dolmen (dyssekammer) located in a cultivated field within the Svendborg Municipality of South Funen. Dating to the Stone Age (3950–2800 BC), the site has been officially protected since 1937.
The structure consists of a single chamber that includes three support stones, two parallel threshold stones, and a single capstone. The capstone is particularly noted for its dramatic contrasting color. The chamber’s dimensions have been recorded as approximately 1.8 to 1.9 meters in length and between 0.7 and 1.0 meters in width, with an orientation generally running North-Northeast to South-Southwest.
Historical inspections by the National Museum of Denmark and other authorities (dating from 1918 to 2016) reveal that the chamber was likely originally encased in a round mound, which has since been largely destroyed by agricultural plowing. While the mound is gone, the chamber itself remains a prominent feature of the local landscape.
